A feature article at Cell, a journal that publishes findings of unusual significance in any area of experimental biology. The article includes research and recommendations that we produced as part of this report on single-cell and spatial transcriptomic research in LATAM.

Equitable, Diverse and Inclusive Evaluation Systems

A blog and a podcast for the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes (EADI) and their “Decolonising Knowledge for Development” project. Our contributions moved the conversation beyond indigenous knowledge and international development, and provided actionable ideas to transform evaluation.

A call to action

A systems change approach to better understand evaluation systems and to name its lack of equity, diversity and inclusion; the need to decolonise it and the culture and leadership gap. This thought piece is an output of the MEL in Systems Change Inquiry Group, hosted by the School of System Change in 2023.

Supporting people with black heritage backgrounds

We co-produced this learning brief with colleagues at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, which includes evidence from a review we conducted last year. The brief will be relevant to anyone working in equity, diversity and inclusiveness in addition to those working in the academic and health sector.

Summary Backbone Fund evaluation report. It contains insights and recommendations for all funders, particularly those interested in supporting social justice and more diverse, equitable and inclusive funding practice.

Excellence Fellowship Review

The fellowship is aimed at researchers from Black heritage backgrounds. The review focused on EDI practice, it assessed the effectiveness of new selection mechanisms and mapped the journey towards systemic change.
