We do so by helping understand systems, transformative leavers of change, key stakeholders and their needs. We complement it with planning and implementation assistance via our organisational development, EDI and monitoring, evaluation and learning services.
Tools, methods and approaches:

- Outcome and Impact focused design
- Systems thinking and mapping
- Value chain & operation model (re)design
- Landscape analysis and horizon scanning
- Theories of change, activity prioritisation and baseline assessment
- Monitoring, evaluation, research and learning frameworks and logframes
- Scenario planning, drivers of change and SWOT analysis
EXAMPLES

2024-2027 Strategic offer
The research team at The Health Foundation hired us to help facilitate a participatory strategy development plan for the next 3-5 years. We used SWOT analysis to ground thinking and then co-developed a plan over a series of workshops.

2023-2030 Strategy
Mongabay is an international NGO focused on planetary issues. We were hired to develop their new strategy 2023-2030 and its implementation plan. We used a highly participatory, collective, and transparent approach – supported by an organisational assessment, a SWOT analysis and organistional design tools and principles.

2016-2021 Strategy
Nexus Evaluation’s director was the global monitoring, evaluation, research and learning leader at Internews – an international NGO specialising in development issues in fragile, closed or in-conflict countries. She helped clarify the new strategy and led its operationalisation by developing the first organisational-wide theory of change alongside a global system to better track and evaluate social impact and results. It improved regional and programme design as well as reporting practice.

2023-27 Strategy
PANORAMA is a global partnership of organisations funding & implementing solutions for sustainable development. It includes The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, IUCN, UNEP, the World Bank and many others. We adviced on governance models and facilitated their new 2030 strategy and implementation plan.
Testimonials
“I’ve worked with Jessica [Nexus Director] on two projects: developing our organization’s theory of change and our 2030 strategic plan 2023-2030. In both cases, Jess delivered an excellent finished product through a thoughtful and constructive engagement process. We will certainly work with Jess for these kind of projects in the future.”
Rhett Ayers Butler , Founder and CEO of Mongabay
